A magnet for tourists in high season, once the summer crowds dissipate in October Cefalù nevertheless manages to retain a distinct local identity, which has sadly slipped away from many higher-profile Italian resorts like Amalfi and Taormina.

Up the hills, into the sumptuous Madonie Natural Park, Pollina is a charming village with a sensational outdoor theatre set against a backdrop of rolling hills that extends as far as the eye can see. Castelbuono is home to arguably the world’s finest panettone and a popular music festival, and Gratteri is a favourite with our clients, several of whom have bought homes in the quintessentially Sicilian village.

An hour along the coast to the west, Palermo is Sicily’s first city, both historically and in terms of population and prestige.
